Old School meets new age fuel tech and finds no competition
Online PR News – 03-November-2009 – – A thirty year old Green technology has proven to be better than water4gas HHO conversions, more cost effective than hybrid electric vehicles, and as it has always been, affordable for you the consumer.
A technology that has been on the second string bench for years now, has finally emerged as a first string player in the fuel savings gadget wars of today. A short history lesson is needed to explain this.
Why is it now first string when in years past it was put on the bench? Well, there was little or no demand for anything which reduced consumption of a profitable, widely available product. Gasoline, diesel, petrochemical products refined for use in the car, truck, commercial carrier, consumer categories, depended upon a continuing growth cycle to remain profitable. When it became obvious that we were selling long in a short market, the only option for the consumer was to limit the use of gas and lube oil products in a manner that would meet their budgets. Remember the gas shortage of the 70’s which was concurrent with the pollution crises in cities nation wide? California was the chief player with the fifth largest economy in the world and the worst pollution. Out of that was borne the platinum coated catalytic converter, fresh air injection pumps for exhaust gases, and more additives in gasoline. All to satisfy Detroit’s continuing growth cycle in producing gas hungry machines for the consumer. It seems to me the obvious solution would have been in increasing internal combustion engine efficiency. Instead we designed add on devices to mask or burn what these engines were wasting. This was aided by big oil in satisfying the need for fuel and lube to keep them going. Peak oil was upon us and increasing consumerism was the byword of the day for Wall Street and Madison Avenue profiteers. What was the need of products that would cut into the profits for these giants of the American Economy?
There were some entrepreneurial types with a vision to the future and products to address those visions. One of the earliest was Preelin Industries out of Oklahoma. They designed an onboard oil refining system which extended oil change intervals up to one hundred thousand miles. This was in 1971 folks. For Preelin, it was an uphill battle in fighting for market recognition of their product. Industry was being run by big oil and consumerism. Preelin finally went out of the oil refiner business and was bought by a gentleman who was satisfied with addressing a small eclectic consumer category interested it saving money instead of spending it. About the same time a patented invention came out which added vaporized platinum/rhodium solution to the intake air stream of an internal combustion engine. This effectively turned the combustion cylinder into a catalytic converter, which resulted in a cleaner more efficient burn of the fuel. This invention alone sounded the death knell for an already well entrenched catalytic converter /smog pump production industry, neither of which would go away quietly, especially when being backed with the petro industry’s ever growing penchant for increasing the consumer demand for their products.
Fast forward from 1979 to today. Highly priced, wildly fluctuating petro products costs, which defy budget planning by the petroleum consumer. Enter every bright eyed, would be inventor, entrepreneur, with a web URL and unprecedented access to a market hungry for fuel saving devices. New technology being developed in hydrogen and electric vehicle applications, which will either not be available for years or are too expensive, or maintenance intensive for the average consumer. It appears that fuel savings of up to 50% can be achieved with a roll of wire, Mason jar and a battery. All one has to do is be gullible enough to believe it and have ordinary handyman skills.
The truth of the matter is this: Hydrogen generation on demand and electric vehicles can and will be the answer to our energy needs. Just not today, there are viable hydrogen on demand systems out there. The main challenge is in having to modify your engine’s computer sensors to accommodate their use. Federal Regulations make it currently illegal to do so. This is where Old School trumps new age technology.
There have been many good additives in the market place to boost fuel efficiency as much as 10%, cost and convenience have precluded their use to any great degree. Fuel injection air intake gadgetry, add on, less restrictive air intake, electrical spark enhancers all have their place in increasing fuel efficiency. Hyper mile-ing driving techniques are always effective. Just not always possible
The two I mentioned awhile back, the platinum gas saver and the Oil refiner, well, these two are ones I have used in the past, found to be effective as advertised and for one reason or another, I lost touch with them in the market place.
When the gas market spikes of 2008 approached 5 US dollars a gallon I began looking at viable fuel saving venues. I have a working knowledge of hydrogen on demand and a unit installed on my pickup truck. I have recorded real savings with that, of 12 to 15 %.However it is fussy and frequently causes map or oxygen sensor codes, which I have to clear, to maintain my fuel savings.
It was a bit late when I recalled my experience with gas and oil savers in decades past. So, imagine my surprise, when I did an internet search and found this little company tucked away in the hills of North Carolina which retains exclusive rights to these proven green clean technologies.
I called the owner of HHOTek, Trevor Hunter, fully expecting to run into another hydrogen on demand enthusiast. No surprise there, He is one. However Trevor is also a realist and confirmed that a 22% savings was what he would guarantee on his platinum fuel saver system and even more astounding to me, guarantee that I will never need another oil change when the Platinum injection system was installed in conjunction with their patented on board oil refiner system.
Some three months later I find myself again, with continually clean oil and a firm 25% gain in gas mileage.
Wow! Shades of 1982 when I used these products with similar enthusiasm. I had to buy them from two separate companies back then. Trevor studied their individual track record of survival, determined that they were now truly of age for this marketplace and made them his own. They work without my active input, save me fully 35% of my former vehicle operating costs and will pay for themselves in savings the first year. Yes I had to buy them. Trevor knows their worth and charges a fair market price with a full 90 day money back guarantee, along with a full lifetime warranty for the system.
Old School technology Trumps New school this time around.
