Los Angeles, California, December 21st, 2017 - The "Kwanzaa of Abundance" celebration commemorates the fifth (5th) day, the day of Nia or Purpose. Remembering and restoring the connection between African and African American cultures, customs and history, we will have African dance and drumming, live performances by conscious reggae band Fountain of Roots, spoken word artist Tasha Auset, comedian Daryl Mooney, one-half of the comedy duo The Mooney Twins and son of stand-up comic legend Paul Mooney, free community dinner, black-owned business vendors, children's activities, candle lighting and more. This is a free event which has something for the whole family.
The keynote speaker of the night will be Brother Michael Imhotep, founder of The African History Network and host of "The African History Network Show" on 910 AM The Superstation in Detroit, Michigan. The talk show host, researcher, lecturer and writer has over one million followers and it will be his first ever presentation on the West Coast.
Bro. Imhotep will be presenting "What is Kwanzaa? Reconnecting African Americans to African culture for self empowerment in the era of Donald Trump."
In addition to celebrating African culture, the host site for the celebration KRST Unity Center of Afrakan Spiritual Science will be honored with an abundance of love offerings for all they have done to demonstrate through and through, the principle of Nia in the Los Angeles community for 80 years.
