CB Insights has unveiled its prestigious AI 100, a select group of promising private companies working on groundbreaking Artificial Intelligence technology
Online PR News – 15-December-2017 – Bilbao – The A-ha! Conference in San Francisco was the event CB Insights chose to present its prestigious AI 100 and where Sherpa was recognized amongst the select group of 100 companies developing the most innovative Artificial Intelligence technology.
Earlier this year the Basque start-up was a finalist at CognitionX, a prestigious awards ceremony in London that recognizes excellence in Artificial Intelligence, and where it was surpassed only by Deep Mind (acquired by Google for $500 million). Sherpa has also been presented with the following awards this year: Red Herring Global Winner, Red Herring 100 Winner Europe 2017, White Bull Award and Best Mobile App Award.
Sherpa, the predictive Artificial Intelligence platform has been named to the prestigious AI 100 in San Francisco. The award, which is granted by consultancy firm CB Insights recognizes Sherpa as one of the top 100 most innovative companies using Artificial intelligence in the world. This is how the CEO and Founder of CB Insights Anand Sanwal put it during the A-Ha! Conference which took place in San Francisco and which was also attended by Sherpa CEO and Founder Xabi Uribe-Etxebarria.
The CB Insights research team made their decision after evaluating over 1000 companies using Artificial Intelligence in areas as diverse as cyber security, robotics and medicine.

It’s recognition for the work of the whole team and we hope to take these new developments which have been rewarded to the market in 2018 to help make people’s lives easier,” said Xabi Uribe-Etxebarria, CEO and Founder of Sherpa.

Sherpa, with headquarters in San Francisco and Bilbao, is developing AI-based virtual personal assistant technology with predictive capabilities that enable virtual assistants to learn about users and anticipate their needs before they are asked. Sherpa technology is designed for manufacturers of consumer products, such as automobiles, intelligent ear speakers, in-home speakers and appliances, and wearables, seeking to add intelligence to their products and explore new business models based on offering digital services. Sherpa also makes a Spanish-language consumer app for smartphones and tablets. Preloaded on Samsung smartphones since 2016, the Sherpa app has been downloaded more than 1 million times and is the most widely used Spanish-language personal assistant app for consumers.
