Dealing With People You Can’t Stand: How to Bring Out the Best in People at Their Worst

Motivational keynote speaker and Conscious Communication ® Expert, Dr. Rick Brinkman releases the audiobook version of the bestselling book Dealing With People You Can't Stand: How to Bring Out the Best in People at Their Worst (Brinkman & Kirschner, McGraw-Hill)

Online PR News – 28-January-2011 – – Dr. Rick Brinkman explains that one of the keys to conflict resolution is being precise in your communication, “communication is like a phone number, if you want to get through to the other party you’re going to need all the digits. If even one piece of that puzzle is missing you won’t be successful in your communication.” He also stresses the importance of understanding the other person’s perspective, “… because everybody is right from their point of view.” This realization helps people bridge the gap that might be keeping them from communicating effectively.

Dr. Brinkman developed and teaches Conscious Communication®, a conflict resolution skill that Brinkman says can be applied to any relationship. Clients have included the Astronauts at NASA, Lucas Film, Sony Pictures, IBM, Texas Instruments, the Federal Reserve Bank, the Army, Navy, IRS, Merck, Sanofi-Aventis, Loma Linda University Medical Center, Wells Fargo, Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and many others.

Motivational Keynote Speaker Dr. Brinkman has had a rich life of experience to draw on for his work. One of his most profound influences was that of his parents who were both Holocaust survivors. His mother, who spent six months in the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau, escaped the Nazi death march, but let herself be captured again so she could tell her sister how to escape. She later said the reason she made that decision was because, “I could not live the rest of my life knowing maybe I could have done something.” His father survived three concentration camps for over a year. His parents miraculously found each other after the war and emigrated to the United States. Dr. Brinkman says that it’s that same sense of purpose, and belief that anything is possible that was instilled by his parents, that gives him his passion for helping others. Dealing With People You Can’t Stand: How to Bring Out the Best in People at Their Worst is now available on audiobook. For more information and a FREE GIFT!
