Online PR News – 26-November-2017 – Maumee, Oh – Sunshine Studios is unveiling its 2017 Christmas gift collection, including a new line of beautiful, hand-thrown specialty bowl cozies that all the user to safely warm their food and handle hot contents without burning their hands. The sets are created by resident artists, who work throughout the weekday at the Uptown Maumee studio. Other items include hand-made tree ornaments, super-absorbent and soft rag rugs in an array of colors, angel figurines, and other woven cotton textiles, stoneware porcelain and earthenware.
The studio, which opened in 2014, employs artists with developmental disabilities working Monday through Friday in clay and textiles. The studio also provides community space for creating, offering classes and studio and kiln time to the public. The studio is open to beginners and experienced artists and includes a Shimpo clay equipment, outside firings, and a wide variety of glaze and underglazes. Additionally, the studio rents its space for parties, business meetings and special gatherings. The historic ArtCrest building features hardwood floors, punched metal ceilings and sweeping view of the heart of Uptown.
The studio also offers gallery space to local artists selling jewelry, framed photographs, canvas painting and unique gifts.
