Online PR News – 30-October-2009 – – The Michelle’s Angels Foundation Inc. (MAF) today announced its second designated Angel Artist: Nicole Witt of Nashville. Witt follows Kim Parent, the first honoree, as a featured musical artist on the foundation’s website www.MichellesAngels.com.

After first seeing Nicole Witt perform at Nashville’s famed Bluebird Cafe, Herb Knoll, president of the foundation, told her about Michelle’s Angels and asked her if she would like to contribute a song.

“It was just ‘Yes,’ right away,” she recalls. "I'm honored and excited to be a part of this." Her own husband is a cancer-survivor, and she wanted to do everything she could to help others who were walking that road.

Nicole Witt arrived in Nashville in 1998, writing songs with other writers and performing at every opportunity. Songs co-written by Nicole have been recorded by Diamond Rio (“The Box”), Rodney Atkins (“Angel’s Hands”), Clay Walker (“It Ain’t Pretty, But It’s Beautiful”), Terri Clark (“She Didn’t Have Time”) and Lee Brice (“Airport Song”). Her “Brothers of the Highway,” written with Kim Williams and Doug Johnson, helped George Strait’s Troubadour album win a CMA for 2008 Album of the Year and a Grammy for 2009 Country Album of the Year.

"It's a part of me," she says. "In the middle of the night, I write songs. It won't ever shut off. But there is nothing, and I repeat, nothing as awesome as singing and feeling the energy and people in a crowd from stage. I'll be on stage when I'm 80.”

This fall, Nicole is touring with Christa Wells on the Witt & Wells "Love Makes Music" tour. A sampling of her musical gifts can be heard by going to the MAF’s website juke box.

About Angel Artists and their music--so many people quietly suffer. Many do so without any support or assistance from others. Together with their need for human services, many need help restoring their faith or embracing hope for brighter days or to simply know someone cares. MAF Angel Artists accomplish this and more by making their music available to those who suffer. They share messages of faith, love and hope. They do this without any compensation or remuneration.
