New music site goes head-to-head with MySpace Music
10/30/2009

Unsigned musicians can achieve success without the need for a record contract – thanks to a brand new music website.

Online PR News – 30-October-2009 – – OOiZiT.com (pronounced ooo-is-it.com) will pave the way for new artists forging careers in the UK music industry by allowing them to sell their music without the need to be signed to a label – and they keep all royalties from sales and radio play too.

For just £9.97 per month the new site offers unprecedented promotional and sales tools and services specifically geared towards UK music talent.

Each month the site selects a featured artist who will benefit from the site’s marketing expertise ensuring the artist gains as much exposure as possible.

Founder Thomas Fearn said: “For years new artists have made the UK a power house for music but, until now, they’ve not had the dedicated platform to push their creativity and talent. We are going to change that.

“Unlike other social networks, OOiZiT.com is completely focussed on new music. OOiZiT.com isn’t simply for career hungry music artists, it provides new music lovers with a huge source of new music and helps highlight some of the most exciting acts in the UK.”

The site also allows listeners to earn money through the site too by offering bands the opportunity to give the listeners the chance to sell their tracks on their behalf – for each sale made the music listener receives a cut of the profits.

Thomas added: “OOiZiT.com doesn’t just cover the usual genre’s either, it caters for a complete range of musical influences from bhangra to blues or soul to ska.”

The site allows music artists the opportunity to integrate with their Facebook and MySpace pages and sell their favourite new tunes to their friends or fans – and receive all of the royalties.

Tom has already convinced backers that his site www.OOiZiT.com will shake up the music industry and now he is convincing an increasing number of artists to forgo the traditional hunt for a record deal altogether.

Despite only being in beta for the past few weeks over 1,000 bands have already joined the site in the hope to sell their music to the masses.

OOiZiT.com integrates with PPL for music, one of the main royalty collection societies, which gives unsigned artists the peace of mind that they are getting all of the royalties they are due. This includes the collection of fees for radio airplay and pay directly to the artists – again cutting out the middle men at the record label and music publisher.

The move looks set to be the biggest shake up the music industry has seen since the birth of iTunes and music downloads.
