Lyfta wins UN's World Summit Award 2017 innovation competition

Over 400 startups from 180 countries compete annually for WSA. Finnish EdTech company Lyfta is one of the five winners in the Learning and Education category.

Lyfta combines virtual and augmented reality environments with emotional storytelling to create highly engaging learning experiences about diverse cultures and countries. Lyfta’s immersive storyworlds are built around the new phenomenon-based curriculum in Finland and provide a revolutionary approach to teach 21st century skills and global citizenship. Earlier this year, Lyfta was selected by hundrED as one of the 100 most inspiring global innovations in education.

Lyfta was nominated for WSA by Ilkka Kurkela. Kurkela works at the University of Helsinki HY+ and he was recently selected as the Finnish national expert for WSA. “I am happy and available to provide information to Finnish innovators, wishing to apply for next year’s award.
