Online PR News – 10-December-2010 – – Burbank, Calif. – The 19th annual DEER VALLEY® CELEBRITY SKIFEST, produced by JUMA Entertainment, and featuring stars, Olympians and a special performance by Grammy Award-nominee and Brit Award-winner KT Tunstall, took place December 3-6, 2010 in Park City, Utah. The event marked opening weekend of the 30th anniversary year of Deer Valley Resort, and aired as a one-hour special on CBS Sports.
The annual event, which pairs U.S. Olympic ski legends with top celebrities for a weekend of skiing, live music and fundraising, raised over $500K for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Waterkeeper Alliance, an organization devoted to protecting fresh water resources around the world.
Celebrities in attendance included: Taylor Armstrong (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills), Dylan Bruno (Fixing Pete), Trevor Donovan (90210), Hill Harper (CSI: NY), Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Oliver Hudson (Rules of Engagement), Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Max Kennedy, Rob Morrow (The Whole Truth), Joey Pantoliano (No Kidding, Me Too!), JB Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Patrick Warburton (Rules of Engagement), Bob Woodruff (ABC News), Ian Ziering (Dancing with the Stars, Beverly Hills 90210) and many more. The stars were joined by U.S. Olympians Phil Mahre, Steve Mahre, Tommy Moe and Heidi Voelker.
Top auction items went for 100K each, including a trip to Sacred Valley, British Columbia with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Dan Aykroyd and Wade Davis, and a one week trip to the exclusive private Island of Namotu, Fiji with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Seth Wescott, and US Snowboardcross Team Member JJ Tomlinson.
DEER VALLEY CELEBRITY SKIFEST is produced by JUMA Entertainment for CBS. Bob Horowitz (“The Singing Bee,” “Ochocino: The Ultimate Catch”) is creator and executive producer of the event.
