Online PR News – 25-February-2014 – Atlanta, GA – Andrew Ausband, founder of The Ausband Firm, recently recovered a jury verdict of $3.2 million in damages for a couple who suffered serious injuries in a truck accident on I-85 in Georgia.
Johnny and Carolyn Parks were driving on the highway on June 21, 2011, when they pulled to a stop behind a HERO unit removing debris from the road. The driver, Jessie Arnold, was cited for following too closely and failing to yield at the stop.
As a result of the accident, Johnny and Carolyn Parks suffered serious injuries requiring substantial medical treatment. Carolyn was forced to undergo $200,000 worth of surgeries, with additional procedures likely necessary in the future, while Johnny underwent spinal fusion surgery costing $154,173. In addition, he was rendered unable to work for a substantial period of time, causing the couple to lose a considerable amount of income.
The jury in the case decided in favor of the plaintiffs after 24 hours of deliberation over a two day period, awarding a total of $3.2 million in damages to help the couple cope with their medical expenses and other losses.
