Online PR News – 14-November-2012 – New Roads, Louisiana – New Roads, Louisiana - Ashley Berthelot, designer/owner, Fancy Designs (http://www.fancy-designs.net) thinks some music essentials deserve a makeover and is acting on it with her digitally designed iPhone speakers. Berthelot showcased the Keep Calm & Listen to Country Music model backstage at The 46th Annual CMA Awards Gift Lounge in late October. The portable iPhone speaker caught the eye of several country music artists, including Blake Shelton.
Berthelot, who has built a successful online business designing affordable, stylish paper goods, also gifted a four-piece country western theme notecard set to some of the biggest names in country music, including Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert and Scotty McCreery.
Berthelot’s digitally designed iPhone speakers are one of her signature products. The Keep Calm speaker has an aged leather and parchment finish with riveted accents and features the adage, “Keep Calm & Listen to Country Music.”
Berthelot says in addition to Keep Calm and other standard designs that are available on her website, she can customize the iPhone speakers to suit just about any taste or decor. “I ask the client to share with me all the ideas they have in mind, no matter how crazy or disparate they may seem. My gift is translating it all into a great-looking, functional product. Fortunately I’m good at visualizing an outcome; the result is a lot of happy customers.”
In addition to having her iPhone speaker on display and notecards in celebrity gift bags at The CMA Awards, Berthelot represented The Artisan Group throughout the four day gift lounge. The Artisan Group (http://www.theartisangroup.org) is a California-based, invitation only organization that seeks out and gifts the best in handcrafted items at elite awards ceremony gift lounges.
“Country music is a huge part of my life so meeting some of its biggest stars was an incomparable experience,” said Berthelot. “Besides introducing my digitally designed iPhone speakers, I was thrilled to be able to promote the amazing handcrafted goods gifted by members of The Artisan Group. There was so much appreciation for what we do—by the stars and the press and the media; it was gratifying.”
Berthelot has previously participated in GBK’s 2011 Primetime Emmys Gift Lounge and has also contributed to collaborative gift bags for Tori Spelling and Trista Sutter. Berthelot views celebrity gifting as an opportunity, different from traditional advertising, to get her physical product into the hands of influential celebrities and taste makers. Berthelot says that through word of mouth generated by these events, Fancy Designs has enjoyed increased recognition and even a bump in sales.
“The best advice I can give to individuals interested in celebrity gifting is to be patient and work each opportunity, especially through social media,” noted Berthelot. “You can’t expect instant gratification. It’s a lot more than just securing a spot in a gift lounge. You need to promote your participation daily and step outside your comfort zone to talk to anyone who will listen about what you do.”
Berthelot established Fancy Designs to satisfy her clients’ need for affordable, stylish paper goods. She specializes in customized stationery design, including invitations and business cards and has developed a niche creating personalized graduation cards with a hip slant that appeals to teens and young adults.
Fancy Designs is a pro-seller on Zazzle.com and its designs are frequently showcased as part of the platform’s Today’s Best Awards. “I attribute my success on Zazzle to standing out from the crowd; while I stay on top of trends, I don’t over rely on them,” Berthelot noted. “It’s important to trust your creative self. Have a notebook by your side at all times to capture your ideas. Even if they seem a little out there, go for it.”

ABOUT FANCY DESIGNS
Ashley Berthelot, designer, business owner, and compulsive organizer is passionate about weddings, stationery, all things paper, the written word, cupcakes and anything that's eye catching and beautiful.
Fancy Designs (http://www.fancy-designs.net) was established in 2010 when Berthelot felt compelled to bring her clients designer style at an affordable price. She questioned why customers should have to sacrifice style and quality just because of budget concerns and went about rectifying the situation.
By 2011 Fancy Designs had begun to run itself and Berthelot branched back into designing logos and branding, something that she had lost the passion for before Fancy Designs was born. 2011 also brought her an invitation to join the celebrity gifting group, The Artisan Group. Through that partnership her products made their way into the swag bags at GBK's Primetime Emmy Awards Gift Lounge and onto the display table, where one of her iPhone 4 cases was photographed with Wes Ramsey from The Playboy Club as well as Zach Woods from The Office. In 2012, Berthelot was honored to send Fancy Designs products to Tori Spelling and Trista Sutter.
